ABOUT THIS SESSION
Not Forever will focus on the design of the temporary museum for the conservation of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s residential masterpiece The Hill House. “Not Forever” is also the title of Carmody Groarke’s forthcoming book which documents the making of this project.

Andy Groarke, Co-founder Carmody Groarke

Andy Groarke has over 20 years' experience leading the development of several award-winning projects, including the V&A Members' Room in London, Windermere Jetty Museum and The Hill House Box. Groarke began his career at David Chipperfield Architects in London where he met Kevin Carmody, subsequently establishing Carmody Groarke in 2006. The practice has a reputation for working internationally on a wide range of projects, both new-build and within the context of historic buildings. Monographs of the studio have been published in the international periodical 2G, and the Spanish publication, El Croquis, No. 195. Andy has lectured and taught extensively at international institutions including the Royal College of Art, the Bartlett (University College London) and the University of Sheffield. Andy received his master's degree in Architecture from the University of Sheffield in 1997.
